Job Quality Center of Excellence

The US has a job quality crisis. Too many jobs are not quality jobs. Low-quality jobs exacerbate social and economic inequities across race, ethnicity, and gender, while hindering economic growth and straining public budgets. For too long too much went to “fixing workers.” Now is the time to “fix work.” We offer the Job Quality Center of Excellence as a new platform to drive improved job quality and economic dignity for workers through stakeholder engagement, idea generation, and resource sharing to prompt and support effective change/action. On this platform:

  • Exemplars: Profiles of individuals and organizations who are innovating to improve job quality.
  • Practical tools: Resources and guides geared to a variety of contexts to improve the quality of jobs.
  • Inclusive conversations: Dialogues engaging diverse perspectives to understand issues, explore ideas, and encourage action.
  • Research/Resources: Publications on promising policy ideas, evaluations of innovative practices, and insights on key concepts, metrics, and trends.

The Center draws on the work of the Economic Opportunities Program and the efforts of a range of others that are innovating and experimenting to improve job quality. Please turn to the Center as a resource and forum for sharing fresh approaches. We’d love to hear from you! Please contact us at eop.program@aspeninstitute.org.

To add your voice to the conversation on the urgency of improving job quality, we encourage you join our social media campaign on our Action page.
